Embroidered panel
This embroidered panel belongs to an exceptional set of 32 medallions and 4 panels dedicated to the legend of Saint Martin, which were part of a "chapel". The other parts are held in Lyon, New York and Baltimore.
These embroideries, which have remarkable quality, used refined techniques including or nué (goldwork). The patterns were drawn by Barthélémy d'Eyck and the embroidery was crafted by Pierre du Billant, respectively the painter and embroiderer for René d'Anjou, known as "King René", who commissioned this ensemble.
