Purchasing & Booking

Any group visiting with at least 10 people (self-guided tour or with a guide) must book it on the group ticketing site. The booking will be confirmed when the booking voucher sent by the group booking service is received.

Our booking conditions

Reservations open four months before the month of your visit (for example, from May 1st for a visit in September).

You must fill a reservation request form. The group reservations department will process your request in the order it is received, within 1 to 8 weeks.

Please note that the museum is closed on Mondays and does not accept groups on Saturdays after 2:00 pm or on Sundays.

The group reservations department can be reached at +33 1 53 73 78 30 (preferably on Mondays between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm) or by email: groupes.museedecluny[at]culture.gouv.fr

Your group

The number of visitors per group depends on the type of tour selected. You will find this information in the description of each activity. In any case, if your group size exceeds the maximum capacity, the reservation department will schedule two separate tours, subject to availability (the second part of the group will need to wait outside the museum until their scheduled time) :

  • for the "Gallo-Roman baths" tour, the second group will be scheduled 30 minutes after the first one,
  • for the "Lady and the unicorn and other masterpieces" tour, the second group will be scheduled 15 minutes after the first one.

The number of adult chaperones (included in the guided tour fee) for children's groups is based on the French National Education recommendations:

  • Elementary School: A minimum of 1 adult per 15 children (we recommend 1 adult per 8 children).
  • Middle and High School: A minimum of 1 adult per class (we recommend 2 to 3 adults per class).

Beyond these minimums, it is the responsibility of the school principal to determine the number of chaperones required based on pedagogical and safety needs.

Additional AESH (Special Education Assistants) are always very welcome. Our priority is the proper supervision of your groups and respect for the specific needs of each individual.
