This animated sculpture represents Christ riding a donkey into Jerusalem. This type of group travelled through the parish as part of the procession on Palm Sunday.

This use was part of a form of mediaeval piety expressed by "moving representation", the aim of which was to make the great moments of the liturgic year visible.

Christ’s clothing and the donkey’s coat have been repainted, probably in shades close to the original ones, while Christ’s skin tones have been preserved.
