The Musée de Cluny – Musée national du Moyen Âge is one of Paris's oldest museums. As the only national museum dedicated exclusively to the medieval period, it houses over 23,000 works of art, including the famous Lady and the Unicorn tapestries. Two to three exhibitions are organized each year. Admission to the museum is free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month.

What to see at the Musée de Cluny?

The museum preserves nearly 24,000 works illustrating the extraordinary vitality of medieval artistic production. Merovingian jewelry, stained glass, enameled works, and large wooden sculptures bear witness to the evolution of society and European creation between the late Antiquity and the beginning of the Renaissance. The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries, the Golden Rose, and the sculptures from Notre-Dame de Paris are among the collection's greatest masterpieces. The museum explores chivalry and courtly love, technical and scientific innovations, as well as everyday life. Take a virtual tour to experience medieval art firsthand.
