Game Box
France ( ?), late 15th century Ebony and Stained Walnut W. 0.399; H. 0.242 m (folded) Acq., 1862 Cl.13309
The box is made up of two parts; each part has a game on each side. Two sliding trays offer a total of six different games. Some, like chess, tic-tac-toe, backgammon and whirligig are still well-known today; others have been forgotten - like fox and hens, or glic, a card game.
