Four images, divided by the Cross, on which the main scene of the plate is featured, support the evocation of a complex programme dealing with eschatology. In the tradition of Carolingian ivories, the scenes lead one to the next: the Crucifixion, with Saint John and the Holy Virgin looking up to Christ, who is dressed in a long tunic; then the holy women at the tomb, Easter morning, greeted by the angel. The Ascension is shown in the top right corner, with God's hand reaching for his Son, who is accompanied by four angels. The apostles and the Virgin witness the prodigy.
